Suez Canal

Suez Canal Today

The Suez Canal is currently controlled by the Arab Republic of Egypt.  The canal essential to our world today for it provides the quickest way through Africa.  Without it, ships would be required to travel all the way down to the tip of Africa to move important goods such as oil.  Over 21,000 ships use the canal each year.
